About InTune Myotherapy

Amy VogelsAmy Hooiveld is the director and myotherapist at InTune Myotherapy. Amy graduated with the Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy in 2004 from the Victorian College of Healthcare Education. After completing her supervised clinical placement at Muscular Health & Natural Therapies in Knoxfield, she began work there that same year, giving her over 20 years of clinical experience in the field.

Amy has been a member of the industry leading association MA (Myotherapy Association Australia) throughout her career.

Being a keen sports person herself, Amy has played a large amount of basketball, as well as netball, and thoroughly enjoys gym & snowboarding. Through these interests, she has worked with local sports people and sports teams including Kilsyth Cobras Basketball Players (men & women), U18's girls Victoria Metro state basketball team and East Ringwood Football Club, Torquay Tigers Football & Netball Club, however has mostly worked in a clinic environment treating and helping the general public with pain and injuries arising from every day activities (ie, work, stress, hobbies and exercise).

Although Myotherapy is a great modality to treat a large range of conditions and pain complaints (see Common Conditions), Amy particularly enjoys working with neck pain and headaches as well as lower back pain, and is developing her knowledge and skills on Myotherapy during pregnancy.

Working within the Coastal Balance (Physiotherapy & Clinical Pilates) clinic in Torquay, gives Amy the opportunity to work alongside Physiotherapist Cindy Parks and colleagues. This also provides patients with a great avenue for assisting in developing their post treatment strength and conditioning, giving patients the confidence to resume their regular lifestyles, pain free!
